Short Summary: | Dealing with a bill of sale in which a deed of manumission had been executed for the slaves in question. Upon the tetator's death, the testator was in debt for which all real property in his estate, excluding that slaves that he manumitted the year prior to his death. Holding that this is a valid manumission becasue at the time of manumission the plaintiff was not a creditor, and therefore not prejudiced. |
